Bio - Lyle Ronglien

Lyle Ronglien teaches guitar lessons in his home studio in Mill Creek, WA, and on the Internet to students all over the world using Riff Interactive technology and is now becoming one of the world’s most sought after guitar instructors. He's also the author of many successful Riff Interactive CD-ROMs and Downloads. Lyle plays lead guitar in one of Seattle’s top local bands and produces music for national TV and radio commercials as well as music for national recording artists and groups from his home studio.
Lyle started playing guitar when he was 10 years old and has never stopped. He started taking weekly private lessons and for 3 years learned how to read and write music as well as learning the theory behind it. During this time he put together a band with a bunch of friends in the 6th grade. They became “popular” at their school and were even asked to play a few gigs where they preformed cover songs as well as originals. During Lyle’s Jr. and High school years he played in a couple of different bands performing at high school and college dances as well as every single house party they could find. Lyle’s main musical influences back then were: Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Yes, Rush, Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Duane Allman, and Santana.

In high school he played guitar in the jazz ensemble for two years. Lyle also taught beginner and advanced guitar classes at the high school. The school couldn’t put him on the pay-roll, but they did give him extra credits to help him graduate a little early so he could go play more guitar! After graduating early from high school Lyle was asked to join one of Seattle’s top local bands as their lead guitarist. He accepted the offer and played gigs with them all over the greater NW and Canada for about 6 years. During that time the band ended up writing their own songs, signed a record deal, recorded several records and made a video for MTV. The band eventually moved to Los Angeles and Lyle stayed in Seattle to work on his own projects. Lyle started teaching at a local music store and soon had a full roster of weekly students.

Over the years Lyle continued to record CDs with various bands, playing full and part time in local groups around the Pacific NW, and teaching private and group guitar lessons including involvement with music institutions such as EMP (The Experience Music Project), The National Guitar Workshop, and local private colleges. Currently he is a solo artist and leader of his own bands, "Highway 9", and "Bubbles & Fog". The latest artists he has recorded for include Tyrone Vaughan, Jimmie Van Zant, Rockit Guitars, En Vogue, All 4 One, and others. Lyle is endorsed by Brian Moore Custom Guitars and Rockit Guitars. As a loving husband and father, he also finds time to enjoy his favorite pass times playing and recording music, riding motorcycles, Formula 1 and NASCAR racing.
